Tom Gutie was part of Rumi Runa, a collaboration dedicated to supporting Peruvian craftsmanship and bringing greater visibility to the artisans who preserve the country’s diverse cultural heritage. Held on October 2 at Artesano Café, the event brought together designers, artisans and representatives from different regions of Peru for a fashion show celebrating the country’s cultural richness, complemented by a gastronomic offering by Artesano Café.
For this collaboration, Tom Gutie presented an exclusive collection of four coats inspired by Peruvian craftsmanship and cultural traditions.
Drawing inspiration from three expressions of Peru’s cultural heritage, Paracas iconography, the Inca worldview and the Andean tradition of the Toritos de Pucará, the collection explores forms, textures and symbols that have endured across generations.
Each coat reinterprets elements of these traditions through decorative details and distinctive design techniques, from the figure of the Torito de Pucará and the stripes associated with the Inca worldview to lines inspired by Paracas and silhouettes shaped through different techniques, reflecting the diversity of Peru’s cultural heritage.
The collection also introduces two new seasonal shades, sky blue and butter yellow, bringing a fresh dimension to the designs.
A collection that looks to the past to shape new expressions of Peruvian design.
